Original dale's Seasoning

Q: Is dale's used as a condiment, (as is ketchup or mustard), to be poured over beef, chicken, or pork at the table?

A: dale's is a marinade. It is used primarily as a cooking sauce before and during cooking.

Q: How long should I marinate the dish to be prepared in dale ’s?

A: For hamburgers or steaks, allow 20-30 minutes; chicken, pork and fish will require a shorter amount of marinating time. Venison may take as much as 24 hours in the refrigerator overnight to remove the "wild" taste. While preparing vegetables, dale's can
be added during cooking with no marinating time required. Mushrooms, though, can benefit from 30 minutes of marinating in the refrigerator prior to cooking.

Q: How much dale's should I use when marinating?

A: dale's is a unique blend of spices, and as with all seasonings, the amount used is a matter of personal taste. However, as a general rule, use 1.5 to 2 oz. of dale's for each pound of beef, pork or chicken.

Q: What is the shelf life of dale’s Seasoning?

A: If refrigerated after opening, dale’s has a shelf life of at least 12 months.

Q: The label says dale’s is a steak seasoning. Can I use it on other foods that I prepare?

A: Because dale's is a versatile product, it is delicious on all meats, poultry, fish, lamb, wild game and vegetables.

dale's Reduced Sodium Blend

Q: How long should I marinate meat and vegetables in dale's Reduced Sodium Blend?

A: Because dale's Reduced Sodium Blend is not as highly concentrated as Original dale's Seasoning, we suggest a longer marinating time in preparing your meal. For thinner cuts of pork and beef, we recommend that you marinate them for 45 minutes. For chicken and thicker cuts of meat, you will need to marinate the item for about an hour or longer. Basting during cooking time will enhance the flavor even more and may allow for a little less marinating
time.

Q: Why is dale's Reduced Sodium Blend thicker than the Original?

A: To maintain a flavor similar to the Original, we added dry and liquid spices which contributes to the thickness of this product. Having these addes spices help lock in natural juices and enhances the flavor of the meat.

Q: Why did dale's create a Reduced Sodium Blend?

A: Since some of our customers have to watch their sodium intake, we wanted to create a recipe that would allow them to experience the flavor of dale's with less sodium.

Q: What if I cannot find dale's Reduced Sodium Blend in my local grocery store?

A: If you cannot find the product, please ask for it by name at your local grocery store. You may also visit our Orders page to find the information you will need to order directly from us.
