Dale’s Sloppy Joes

Yields1 Serving
 2 tbsp olive oil
 2 carrots, peeled and grated
 1 cup diced yellow onion
 1 cup diced green bell pepper
 3 garlic cloves, finely chopped
 2.50 lbs ground sirloin (90/10 ground beef)
 1.50 cups ketchup
 2 tbsp brown sugar
 1 cup beef broth
 ½ cup Dale's Steak Sauce
 ½ tsp ground black pepper
 8 toasted hamburger buns

Heat 2 tablespoons of oil in a large Dutch oven over medium heat.

Add the carrot, onion and green bell pepper and cook until slightly softened, 5-7 minutes.

Add the garlic and cook 1 additional minute.

Add the ground beef and cook 8-10 minutes until no longer pink, stirring frequently while breaking up into small pieces with a wooden spoon.

Add the ketchup, brown sugar, beef stock, and Dale's Steak Sauce.

Stir to combine and bring to a simmer.

Reduce heat to medium-low and cook for 15-20 minutes until the flavors meld together and the mixture slightly thickens.

Serve on toasted hamburger buns
